Mr. Pinak Pratim Dan, aged about 40, is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate and a dedicated social reformer with over 16 years of experience in the medicinal plants and finance sectors. Inspired by rural economic challenges and traditional agriculture, he founded the Madhyamgram Kalpataru Welfare Society in 2009. Since 2016, he has pioneered contract farming of medicinal plants in West Bengal, connecting farmers with corporate buyers. His expertise spans commercial medicinal plant projects and sustainable farmer engagement. In 2024, he was recognized by the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) and the Regional Cum Facilitation Center (RCFC), Jadavpur University, for developing the Bengal variety of Ashwagandha and promoting Brahmi cultivation.
