Kalpataru is a social organization working since 2016 with medicinal plant farmers across four districts in West Bengal. We educate and support farmers in cultivating medicinal plants like Brahmi, Ashwagandha, and Kapoor Kachari, helping them adopt sustainable practices and improve their livelihoods. Kalpataru promotes medicinal plantations, ensures buy-back of produce, and connects farmers with markets, empowering them with steady income opportunities.
Under the Kalpataru Farmers Producer Trust, our brand Leaf & Root offers a range of processed herbal products such as herb powders, capsules, awaleha, herbal goli, and fruit juice candies. These products promote natural wellness while adding value to raw herbs. Kalpataru remains committed to rural development through farmer empowerment and sustainable agriculture. Presently, we are present in 4 Districts in West Bengal and 165 medicinal plant farmers. Viz. North 24 Pargana, South 24 Pargana, Nadia, Murshidabad.
Madhyamgram Kalpataru Welfare Society is registered with the Registrar of Societies and the type of NGO is Registered Societies (Non-Government) bearing the Agriculture Act and the Registration Number is S/IL/65717. The city and state of registration are North 24 Parganas and West Bengal. The date of registration is 03-12-2009. Our Unique Id of VO/NGO is WB/2017/0176923.
Our Mission
We are a Non-Profit, Non- Government organization with a mission to work with marginal and poor farmers, unorganized, unemployed and low income people of the society for their overall development and economic uplift meant by providing them advanced technology, linkage of financial help, marketing support in agriculture and other allied activities and improvement of quality of life.
Our Vision
To make overall upliftment and improvement of quality of life of the poor, marginalized and downtrodden segment of the society without any discrimination of caste, creed, religion and communities by socio economic development to benefit society.
Our Objective
To expand farmer networks, increase the cultivation area of key medicinal plants, strengthen market linkages, and innovate product development under the Leaf & Root brand for long-term rural prosperity.
